THE BONA FIDES OF THE SCIENTOLOGY RELIGION

On December 21, 1993, the Inspector General of Financial Institutions for the government of Quebec recognized the Church of Scientology of Montreal and the Church of Scientology of Quebec City as religious corporations.

And on August 16, 1994, the province of Ontario determined that Scientology is a true religion and issued certificates to Scientology ministers authorizing them to perform marriages. As a result, the religious status of Scientology is now recognized in every Canadian province where churches exist.

More recently, in 1996, the British Ministry of Defense said that Scientology was “an officially recognized religion” in the Royal Navy.

Courts in Europe have also recognized the religiosity of Scientology.
