THE HISTORY OF SCIENTOLOGYS EXPANSION
In the spring of 1995, a new Scientology mission was opened in Wichita, Kansas. This city was where Mr. Hubbard discovered the source of life the thetan and established the first national Dianetics Foundation headquarters in the 1950s. Once again Mr. Hubbards route to spiritual freedom was welcomed by the city that stood at the historic crossroads of Scientologys development. And, seven months later, the new premises of the Founding Church of Scientology in Washington, DC, were opened at the fully restored Fraser Mansion on Dupont Circle. It was in this city that forty years earlier Mr. Hubbard had established the first auditor training Academy.
To meet an increasing demand for Scientology in Europe, the Advanced Organization and Saint Hill in Copenhagen, Denmark, was fully renovated to provide new facilities for the flood of European Scientologists coming for advanced spiritual studies. Concurrently, the Advanced Courses of Scientology and Mr. Hubbards accompanying filmed lectures on the subject were translated and released in French, German, Spanish and Italian, making the OT levels available in these languages for the first time.
By the beginning of 1996, Scientology reached every corner of the world, including for the first time Latvia, Sri Lanka, Botswana, Hong Kong, Romania and Nepal.
In February, leaders of the Shinto religion, one of the worlds oldest faiths, traveled from Japan to Clearwater, Florida, and Los Angeles, California, to learn more about L. Ron Hubbard and Scientology.
