ABLE’s support and promotion of these invaluable social betterment programs offers new hope for individuals across the world. From the addicted who find new meaning in drug-free lives, to the illiterate who learn to read and suddenly find a future, the criminals who once again find pride in who they are and their potentials, and the children who discover the value of morals, ABLE is helping and changing lives.
While ABLE’s mission is to reverse the decline of our civilization — to once again make learning a joy, our streets safe, our people able to face life sanely and rationally — the satisfaction gained by the staff of ABLE and its supporters and volunteers comes from helping individuals, those basic building blocks of our society so often ignored and overlooked. There is no greater fulfillment in any act than there is in restoring hope and pride and competence to such individuals.
The aims of Scientology seek a civilization without insanity, without criminals and without war, where the able can prosper and honest beings can have rights, and where man is free to rise to greater heights. Since the activities of ABLE and the social betterment groups it supports contribute vitally to this goal, churches of Scientology and individual Scientologists alike will continue to do all they can to support their programs.
