THE WAY TO HAPPINESS FOUNDATION
A major of the Ural army stationed in Chechnya decided to help make peace in that region by handing out copies of The Way to Happiness to Chechnyan soldiers. He wrote in a letter: When I read this booklet I understood that it really is the way that leads to a happy life, to love and respect between people . . . therefore I decided that soldiers need to know this book. When I gave this booklet to a person and explained why I gave it to him, he became good-willed towards me and some even became friends.
The troubled nations of Croatia, Serbia and Bosnia have also benefited, with tens of thousands of copies of the booklet distributed and printed in newspapers and magazines. Wrote one Bosnian official after reading Mr. Hubbards common-sense precepts in The Way to Happiness: This booklet is the most important thing for the people of my country. It is even more important than food.
Even the drug-torn nation of Colombia has felt the impact. The countrys largest and most influential newspaper, El Tiempo, distributed copies of the booklet to all subscribers and printed a series of quotes from the booklet in its editions. Referring to the violence that had shaken the nation, the newspaper president stated, The root of this illness is not in politics but in the soul of our people. When I read The Way to Happiness, I realized that this is our solution for social and personal illness.
