New Era Dianetics (NED) changes none of Mr. Hubbard’s earlier theories or principles of Dianetics as he originally developed them. It is based on Mr. Hubbard’s refinement of all previous Dianetics techniques dating back to 1948 – and includes the milestone development of new and more precise procedure in 1978. NED consists of at least eighteen separate steps, including four rundowns, which address and resolve various areas of spiritual travail. The Relief Rundown, for example, relieves the losses an individual has suffered, such as the death of a loved one, after which the person’s life may have changed for the worse. Others include the NED Drug Rundown, the Disability Rundown and the Identity Rundown.
